Enforcement date and strategy:
The actual enforcement date of ISF was January 26th, 2010. US Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) decided to proceed with a graduated enforcement strategy as explained in the document "Graduated Enforcement.
3) How can Kuehne + Nagel help file ISF data?
In order for ISF filers to be able to comply with these requirements, Kuehne + Nagel established a dedicated ISF processing center and portal. ISF filing services are offered, at a reasonable fee, to customers who use Kuehne + Nagel's seafreight and/or US customs brokerage services. The key and challenge to compliance is obtaining the commercial invoice data from vendors early on in the process. Kuehne + Nagel created several levels for monitoring this process which is made visible to customers in KN Login. The global Kuehne + Nagel network is familiar with ISF requirements and can assist vendors in getting the information and data into the system for accurate and timely filing.
In the US, each local Kuehne + Nagel office is capable of assisting ISF filers with the implementation, providing professional advise, procure a bond and set-up visibility and alert systems.
