At today’s Annual General Meeting of Kuehne + Nagel International AG all proposals were approved by a clear majority. 70.7 per cent of voting shares were represented.

Kuehne + Nagel was selected by Brasseries Kronenbourg, the largest brewer in France, to partner it in the outsourced management of its distribution centres in France.

The Kuehne + Nagel Group continued its growth course during the first three months of the year and delivered strong results. Compared with the previous year, turnover grew by 9.0 per cent (12.6 per cent excluding currency impact) to CHF 5,310 million. The operational result (EBITDA) improved by 13.9 per cent (17.2 per cent excluding currency impact) to CHF 262 million. Net earnings increased by 18.5 per cent (21.6 per cent excluding currency impact) to CHF 154 million.

Global logistics provider Kuehne + Nagel has successfully secured a new contract to manage the distribution of food on behalf of Whitbread plc, the UK’s largest hotel and restaurant group.

The total transaction value amounts to approximately € 220 million with an average lease-back period of five years. Beiersdorf AG and logistics service provider Kuehne + Nagel today signed an agreement in which the operation of Beiersdorf AG’s key logistics location in Hamburg will be transferred to its new business partner. Best Buy Co. Inc. has recently awarded Kuehne + Nagel China a contract for the provision of warehouse management and domestic distribution services. The new agreement marks an extension of the business partnership between the two companies in place in Canada since 2005.
