Through the restoration, The Savoy has kept many elements of its well known traditional English style as well as the addition of new modernised touches throughout. The timeless English Edwardian and Art Deco interiors are stunning in the hotel’s 268 guestrooms, suites and public areas.

Nine ‘personality suites’ have been designed with artwork and objects celebrating some of The Savoy’s most famous guests including Frank Sinatra, Charlie Chaplin and Winston Churchill. The hotel has also created a newly designed Royal Suite, which occupies almost the entire 5th floor overlooking the Thames.

Kuehne + Nagel’s UK team of Hotel Logistics Project Managers were responsible for the worldwide freight coordination of the hotel’s highly valuable Furniture Fixtures and Equipment (FF&E).  All FF&E was stored at one of Kuehne + Nagel’s high security warehouse and the team project managed and arranged the delivery of all FF+E to the logistically challenging site on London’s Strand.

A team of Kuehne + Nagel professionals worked onsite and installed all of the loose FF+E to all the hotel’s famous public areas ensuring perfect placement according to the designers’ plans.  The hotel’s public areas include the iconic American Bar, the Thames Foyer - famous for afternoon tea - and the River Restaurant which were all frequented by stars such as Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, The Beatles and Bob Dylan in the past. The Savoy has also introduced a new Beaufort champagne bar and Savoy Tea, a bijou store which offers luxurious chocolates and cakes made in-house, a selection of the world’s finest teas and bespoke items from The Savoy Collection.

The entire door-to-door service was covered by a tailor-made Hotel Logistics insurance policy devised by Nacora, Kuehne + Nagel’s fully-owned insurance brokers.

Alicia Williams, KN Hotel Logistics Global Sales and Marketing Manager said, “The Savoy has been an extremely high profile and challenging project and I am so proud of the successful contribution of our Global Hotel Logistics team. To see The Savoy restored to its rightful place has been amazing and to say that Kuehne + Nagel played a key role in this process is one of our teams’ greatest achievements.”
