What makes a good and convincing application?
Every application should be unique and personal. The application is the initial contact point between you and us. Hence, it should be done in a way that gives us a good idea about you and your qualifications and interests. For a good application you should keep the following three things in mind:
- Complete - Your application should include a motivation letter, a resume and all important letters of recommendation. Your motivation letter should tell us more about you and your experiences/qualifications. As we want to get an idea about you as a candidate and as a person, this requires more than just formal professional qualifications. Let us know why you think you are a good fit to Kuehne + Nagel and to the job.
- Well-structured - Make sure that your cover letter contains all the necessary information, such as the position you are applying for, the reasons why you are interested in the job, your expectations, your qualifications and motivation to successfully fill the open position.
- Orderly - Please check carefully for any errors or typos, and make sure to send updated documents only.
How can I prepare for a phone/skype/personal interview?
If you have been invited to a phone/ Skype/personal interview you have already taken a first important step in the application process. An interview usually lasts between 30 and 60 minutes and is conducted by either an HR responsible or a member of the hiring department, or even both.
During the interview we would like to get to know you better as a person, find out whether you could fit to our company culture and will be able to fulfil the respective job requirements.
- For a personal interview, arrive well-prepared and on time.
- For a phone/skype interview, secure for a calm atmosphere without any interruptions and check for good phone/internet connection
Here is some additional advice:
