Stakeholder engagement and dialogue with industry partners

We foster a transparent and close dialogue with our stakeholders and this involves the evaluation of how our business affects the environment and the communities we work in. Global industry initiatives are of great importance for us; they provide a sound platform to exchange ideas and best practices based on a dynamic dialogue.

Stakeholder engagement and dialogue with industry partners

Some of the global institutions and initiatives that we have projects with are:

Clean Cargo Working Group (CCWG)
The CCWG is a business-to-business leadership initiative that involves major brands, cargo carriers, and freight forwarders dedicated to reducing the environmental impacts of global goods transportation and promoting responsible shipping. We support CCWG’s intention to set emission standards for the maritime industry.

Clean Shipping Index (CSI)
The Clean Shipping Index (CSI) is a non-profit organisation offering a voluntary environmental label for ships and shipping companies and providing market incentives for clean shipping. It is a tool to achieve environmental progress in the shipping industry.

Sustainable Airfreight Alliance (SAFA)
SAFA is a buyer-supplier collaboration between shippers, freight forwarders, and airfreight carriers to track and reduce carbon dioxide emissions from airfreight and promote responsible freight transport.

Global Logistics Emissions Council (GLEC)
We are an early adopter of the GLEC framework. The company assisted the Council during the development of the framework and also volunteered to apply the model in our transport and warehousing operations.

Carbon Trust Standard
The Carbon Trust Standard is the world’s leading independent certification of an organisation’s impact in respect of the ‘three pillars’ of environmental sustainability: Energy usage and greenhouse gas (CO2e) emissions; water usage, management and effluent; and waste management and disposal. The Carbon Trust Standard helps organisations to measure, manage and reduce their environmental impact, whilst improving their resource management and operational sustainability.

This is a voluntary program designed by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The SmartWay transport partnership is designed to accelerate the availability, adoption and market penetration of advanced fuel efficient technologies and environmental practices in the freight supply chain.

EcoTransIT helps to quantify the environmental impact of a company's logistics activities as part of an environmental balance sheet. Thus, EcoTransIT is a decision-making tool that helps to optimise the logistical chains and networks of a company's distribution activity and deliver reliable data for external communication.

International Air Transport Association (IATA)
We closely follow IATA’s initiatives to support the promotion and understanding of proposals for future industry regulation aimed at continued efficiency.
