Kuehne + Nagel Global Seafreight Carbon Calculator
The GSCC allows a quick calculation of the CO2 emission for container and LCL movements from door to door. Kuehne + Nagel can also provide customer specific emission reports. With few exceptions, these reports include actual emission data reported by individual carriers based on the CCWG methodology. Read more about the GSCC methodology.

Kuehne + Nagel as member of the "Clean Cargo Working Group" based the calculation methodology for this tool on the CCWG methodology http://www.bsr.org/en/collaboration/groups/clean-cargo-working-group .
For port to port FCL transportation, the GSCC calculates the CO2 emission per Trade Lane/TEU/Grams based on the aggregate data reported by CCWG carrier participants in 2015 (http://www.bsr.org/reports/BSR_CCWG_TradeLaneEmissionsFactorsReport.pdf ).
For port to port LCL transportation, CO2 emissions factors in Grams/M3/Km are used based on the CCWG's fleet-wide performance average (variable dependending on used trade lane) reported in 2015 divided by a load factor of 22.5 M3 per TEU.
For pre-and on carriage all emissions for CO2 are calculated according to the EcoTransIT World method (http://www.ecotransit.org/basis.en.html ).
